Workstations Engineering

Engineering Workstations for Simulation & CAE in Malaysia

Finite element analysis, CFD simulation, structural modelling and EDA all demand hardware that can sustain high CPU and memory loads for hours at a time. We build engineering workstations around your solver, your model complexity and your runtime targets.

Where standard workstations fail engineers

Consumer and entry-level workstations are rated for office loads, not sustained 100% CPU utilisation across a 48-hour FEA run. Without ECC RAM, memory errors during long simulations can produce subtly wrong results: errors you only discover when you compare the numbers to physical test data.

Thermal throttling on inadequate cooling silently slows solver throughput. You only notice when you track runtimes and wonder why they are inconsistent. We build to prevent that from the start.

How we specify an engineering workstation

Component classes, not part numbers. Your quote names the exact parts.

ComponentWe specifyWhy it matters for simulation
Processor
High core count + high clock

Parallel solvers (ANSYS, Abaqus, OpenFOAM, MATLAB Parallel) and fast sequential solver stages.

Memory
128–256 GB · ECC

Large mesh models, with numerical integrity on long runs.

Storage
NVMe scratch + archive capacity

Fast solver scratch and result output, with room for simulation archives.

Graphics
Optional CUDA acceleration · workstation GPU

For solvers that support CUDA (ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL), and a workstation GPU for the CAD viewport if dual-use.

Power and cooling
Built for sustained load

Thermal headroom matters at 100% utilisation for 24 hours or more.

OS
Windows or Linux, as required

Windows for ANSYS and Abaqus licence compatibility; Linux for OpenFOAM and HPC environments.

More cores or higher clock speed for FEA and CFD?

For CFD, more memory channels often matter more than more cores; for implicit FEA, fast cores also help; and your licence often sets how many cores are worth paying for. CFD codes such as Fluent and OpenFOAM split the mesh across cores and scale well, but they are often limited by memory bandwidth rather than core count, so a processor with more memory channels, all populated, can beat one with more cores. Implicit structural solvers in ANSYS Mechanical and Abaqus scale less evenly, and fast cores help in the stages that do not parallelise.

Licensing often sets the sensible core count. Many commercial solvers charge for each core beyond a base allowance, so cores you are not licensed to use are wasted money. Memory capacity matters as much as speed: when a model no longer fits in RAM, a direct solver switches to out-of-core mode and works from disk, which can make a run several times slower. Fast NVMe scratch storage limits the damage.

Tested the way engineers actually use them

We run stress tests calibrated to sustained CPU and memory loads, not 10-minute benchmarks. Every machine is assembled in-house at our Publika workshop.

  1. Assembled in-house at Publika
No drop-shipping, no outsourced assembly. Cables routed for airflow and easy upgrades.
  2. Stress-tested under load
24 hours at full load on Prime95 and FurMark 2 before sign-off. Test logs available on request.
  3. Verified against your runtime target
Share a typical simulation runtime and we verify the build performs to that target before delivery.
  4. Your solver installed and checked
Supply the licence and we pre-install ANSYS, COMSOL, SolidWorks Simulation or MATLAB, and confirm the solver runs cleanly.

Warranty, payment and delivery

Warranty on parts and labour

Each build carries its components’ manufacturer warranty, generally 3 years, covering parts and labour. If something fails, bring it to us and we handle the claim for you.

Free after-sales care

Dust cleaning, troubleshooting and the labour for upgrades are free for as long as you own the PC. Within the Klang Valley, we also collect and return it for servicing at no charge.

Cash, transfer, card or instalments

A 10–20% deposit, depending on the order value, starts the build. Instalments are available through SPayLater, subject to eligibility, and credit card plans with most banks, except Maybank, CIMB and Public Bank.

Delivered or collected

Free delivery within the Klang Valley. On-site setup is available for a charge. Self-collect at Publika Shopping Gallery.

Engineering workstation FAQ

Do you support licensed engineering software pre-installation?

Yes. If you supply the licence, we can pre-install and verify ANSYS, COMSOL, SolidWorks Simulation, MATLAB or other packages before delivery. We confirm the solver runs cleanly before the machine leaves us.

What is the advantage of ECC RAM for simulation?

ECC memory detects and corrects single-bit memory errors in real time. For long solver runs, this prevents silent numerical corruption that would otherwise require you to re-run the simulation from the beginning.

Can you build for multi-node or cluster configurations?

For teams that need distributed solving across multiple machines, we can build multiple nodes to a consistent configuration and configure high-speed networking between them. Contact us with your cluster requirements.

Tell us your solver and model complexity

Share your primary software, typical mesh size or model complexity, and any runtime targets. We will come back with a configuration recommendation and quote.
